Past Projects
Spring Compressor
On this project, a customer of ours requested that we complete the controls side and guarding for a spring compressor purchased for their assembly plant. The machine’s job is to compress the coil spring on the strut for a vehicle so the operator could safely apply the top retainer and the nut that holds it all together.
We created the main panel to power the VFD motor that compresses the spring and handles controls for the assortment of pneumatic cylinders. On the operator panel, an LED readout showed the total compression of the spring for operator monitoring. To help reduce the costs for the customer, relay logic was preferred over a PLC.
